Celebrating Our Heroes

The Tuskegee Airmen

Stories Inspire Curiosity

As the first African-American pilots in the United States military, the Tuskegee Airmen are heroes of World War II and beyond. Their story of the fight to achieve a “double victory” against fascism overseas and racism at home remains an important lesson in how excellence can beat adversity.

Lucasfilm is making educational resources freely available to teachers, students, and the public so that these stories may help foster new discoveries for young and old alike.

Designed for students grades 6-12, it explores questions and themes immediate to the Tuskegee Airmen story, and introduces connections to our world today in order to foster a larger discussion between students and teachers.
