JOURNEY TO MUSTAFAR…
Lucasfilm and the LEGO Group continued their run of specials with the Halloween-themed LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales. Kicking off scary season with an October 1, 2021, release on Disney+, it blends frights and laughs in a classic horror anthology format.
“The idea to do a Halloween special sprung directly from the success of the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special.” executive producer Josh Rimes told StarWars.com. “Much like holiday specials of the past, we started thinking about, ‘What other seasonal events from our childhoods do we remember?’ And it was very natural to think about Halloween specials.”
LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales was directed by Ken Cunningham, written by David Shayne, and executive produced by James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jacqui Lopez, Jason Cosler, Jill Wilfert, and Keith Malone, and produced by Daniel Cavey and Dan Langlois.
THE STORY
Set after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales finds Poe Dameron and BB-8 making an emergency landing on Mustafar. They journey to Darth Vader’s castle, where they encounter a young boy named Dean and Graballa the Hutt, who has purchased The Citadel and is renovating it into the galaxy’s first all-inclusive Sith-inspired luxury hotel. Darth Vader’s loyal servant Vaneé escorts the group deeper into the castle, regaling them with three creepy stories as a sinister plan emerges…
