Following in the footsteps of the bricktastic LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special and LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales comes LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation. Released August 5, 2022, this Disney+ special once again brought laughs, action, and heart to fans of all ages. (It even features a performance by “Weird Al” Yankovic as singer Vic Vankoh.)
“We were wrapping up Terrifying Tales and started talking about summer vacations and road trips,” writer David Shayne told StarWars.com. “It is about the journey, not necessarily the destination.”
LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation was directed by Ken Cunningham, written by David Shayne, and executive produced by David Shaye, James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jacqui Lopez, Jill Wilfert, Jason Cosler, Keith Malone, and Jennifer Twiner Mccarron.
THE STORY
Following the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation sees Finn arranging a surprise trip for his friends aboard the luxurious Halcyon starcruiser. He becomes separated from his pals and meets the Force ghosts of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Leia Organa, and Anakin Skywalker, who all tell tales of summer fun gone wrong — teaching Finn about the real meaning of taking some time off with friends.
