Lynwen Brennan Receives Special Award from BAFTA Wales
Lucasfilm’s EVP and General Manager is Recognized for her Contributions to the Industry
Lucasfilm Executive Vice President & General Manager Lynwen Brennan has been honored by the British Academy of Film and Television Art (BAFTA) in Wales, BAFTA Cymru, with the Special Award for Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television. Star Wars legend and the actor behind the beloved droid C-3PO, Anthony Daniels, presented the award to Lynwen.
A Welsh native, Brennan left the United Kingdom to join Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) in 1999 as Technical Area Leader for the Computer Graphics Technical Directors. As Executive Vice President and General Manager, she now oversees all business operations for Lucasfilm, ILM, and Skywalker Sound.
“It is both a tremendous honor and a bit surreal to be receiving such a prestigious award from BAFTA Cymru,” Lynwen said. “I am incredibly proud to be Welsh, and never imagined that I would be so honored by the industry and country that I love so much. Having worked with such an amazingly talented group of professionals at Lucasfilm, ILM and Skywalker Sound for 20 years, it is truly a testament to their creativity, innovation and tenacity that I can accept this esteemed award on their behalf.”
